A Non-Toxic Approach for our Schools

IMG_7132.PNG

It's July and I know that means that most of us are full time in SUMMER MODE but I wanted to hit on a few things that you might be thinking about as we gear back up for the SCHOOL YEAR!

.

I know many schools will be requiring masks and lots of HAND WASHING and HAND SANITIZING.

I have never been HUGE on hand sanitizer because the idea of my kids putting alcohol on their hands 5-7 times a day never felt appealing to me or healthy? Anyone?? Our livers have to break all of that junk down.

.

So I've done a ton of reading on this and much to my dismay it is indeed not the best for their little bodies.

More importantly, it can be toxic to their health!

Check out this article here, even the FDA + World Health Organization's telling us it's toxic.

.

"Substantial methanol exposure can result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or death."

No THANKS! I'm good!

.

So how can we do better?

We can do some simple things for our schools and teachers and parents. I am putting together a package for each of my kid's teachers to promote clean, safe, non-toxic sanitizing for our kids and their teachers.

.

#1 Thieves Hand Sanitizer is a must for the classroom.

It has Denatured ethyl alcohol: The active ingredient is ethyl alcohol which is proven to kill 99.99% of germs on the skin. It is denatured to prevent oral consumption. While most companies denature alcohol with chemicals, YL uses Peppermint essential oil to denature the alcohol. (If you want to read more on what kinds of alcohol are good and bad read more here)

I am starting each teacher off with two pump hand sanitizers to have at different stations in their rooms. If your kids’ rooms are bigger they might need 4 bottles but talk with your teacher and see what might serve them best. PRO TIP! I can guarantee you that every mom in your class would be willing to chip in to have a safe non-toxic hand sanitizer in their kids room.

#2 A diffuser to diffuse LEMON to help with focus and concentration and to cleanse the air PLUS a bottle of Thieves to diffuse to fight against air born illness.

#3 A bottle of Refillable Thieves Foaming hand soap and thieves refillable dispensers

Another Option (what we do at home when we run out of our refill of Thieves Foaming Hand soap) is: Equal parts Castile Soap + Warm Water+ Drops of Thieves Essential Oil

.

Last year Cruz went to school for 5 weeks and the soap that he was using in the school basically burnt his hands. He had never had a reaction like this until he started using the "blue foam soap" at school. Immediately I volunteered to be the soap lady and I've made it my mission to make sure the bathrooms are stocked with good clean foaming hand soap for everyone.  Both of these options above are great and safe.

.

I hope this all helps! If you want to get any of these products click HERE or shoot me a message! I would love to help you get started using safe clean products.
